Contrast therapy is the deliberate swing between heat and cold. The sauna raises your core temperature and opens vessels wide; the plunge clamps them down and releases noradrenaline. Your circulation does the work — and what you feel is the payoff: looser muscles, a sharper head, and a calm that holds for hours.
Heat works. Cold works. Together they compound — which is why we built the studio around the pair. Each private suite at our St Elmo flagship holds a bespoke Finnish sauna at 180°F and a still-water plunge at 4°C, a few steps apart, with no one else's schedule to work around.
The protocol is simple. Twelve to fifteen minutes of heat, one to three minutes of cold, a quiet pause, then again — two or three rounds in a 35-minute session. End on cold for energy. End on heat for sleep.
Contrast therapy anchors everything else here — organic coffee from H'N'C and a rotating gallery share the roof. Visit our St Elmo studio in South Austin to see the space, or book a session and feel the swing for yourself.
